Welcome to the Technology & Tools section of the Net:gain website![]() Alongside the face-to-face net:gain centres workshops, we will be using this area to provide jargon-free information about a range of ICT tools for collaboration. There is so much more to the internet and IT than just email and websites, and your computer could help your organisation access some or all of the tools we're exploring. They may be new to your organisation (like blogs, wikis and RSS feeds) or new ways of using existing tools (like To-Do lists, shared calendars and online forums). The benefit is, that they are all affordable (either low-cost or no-cost), appropriate (designed specifically for the VCS or relevant to the types of tasks facing VCOs) and easy to use. If you have been, or plan to go, to one of the follow-up net:gain workshops, then you'll also have access to the Test Drive Area where you can try out some of the tools and let us know what you think of them. If you would like to try any of these, you will need a password. Your Net:gain Centre can provide you with this password. You could also send an Email. If all else fails you can call the net:gain team on 024 76 853 054. NOTE: You do not have to attend a workshop to try out the tools shown and explained here. Feel free to use the Test Drive Area at any time. PS.These pages have been created using a Wiki. Find out more about this strange Hawaiian word and how it can help collaboration by clicking on the link. Links within the wiki are in red, but links to other websites like the BBC have a little icon next to them to indicate you're leaving the wiki. |
